Child Development Services (CDS)

The CDS is meant to assist eligible Coast Guard families in balancing demands of child care and the accomplishment of the Coast Guard mission. This may be done through nine (9) onsite Coast Guard Child Development Centers (CDC), Coast Guard certified Family Child Care (FCC) Providers, Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) Fee Assistance (FA) where a monthly subsidy is paid directly to a child care provider to help offset the cost of community-based child care and access to DoD child care facilities and referral to child care programs in the local community regardless of status.

Family Child Care (FCC)

The Family Child Care Home Program has two purposes: to create a business opportunity for Coast Guard spouses/legal married partners and to provide safe and dependable child care for Team Coast Guard members.

Care Subsidy Program

The Coast Guard has established a Child Care Subsidy Benefit to help defray the cost of child care for Active Duty USCG Members and Reservists who have been called to Active Duty for a minimum of 180 consecutive days or longer.  This benefit is to help meet the needs of eligible families where the spouse/partner is working and/or attending school.  Navy Child & Youth Programs (CYP) is administering this Child Care Subsidy Benefit program on behalf of the USCG through the Navy Child & Youth Programs Fee Assistance Program.

Coast Guard Foundation | Childcare Grants

Coast Guard kids serve too. They go through a lot including frequent moves and missing their active-duty parent during duty days and deployments. We provide enrichment grants to Coast Guard kids so they can attend virtual and in-person camps and take part in online activities during summer and school breaks.
